I’ve read somewhere that studies have shown that every day prices of non-sale items are higher by 30%–70% in most stores that carry consumer loyalty programs compared to stores without such programs.

I’ve done a small “research” of my own and found this to be true! The loyalty card simply create a perception that the store’s prices are low, while the opposite is true.

I’ve compared my average shopping list for about half a year and found that almost always I get a cheaper overall price at store w/o a loyalty program.

    So True!

I have more than 15 loyalty crads, and after I’ve created an excell price list i ended up buyying groceries in a store w/o one.

I only buy loss leaders in the stores with loyalty card, and even this only at time because mor often than not – the everyday price at the store w/o loyalty card is equal or slightly lower than the sale price at the store with loyalty card!
